Embracing My Lord Ram Coming To His Home
In the sacred realm of Ayodhya, where devotion takes flight,
Meeting my Rama, bathed in divine light.
A whisper of prayers, through the cosmic expanse,
In the presence of the deity, in a trance, in a dance.
Eyes that hold galaxies, and stars in His gaze,
A reunion with Rama, a hymn of praise.
The wait for half a millennia, a separation being alone
With your abode rebuilt, the longing is gone.
Time surrenders to the eternal now,
As Rama's love unfolds, like a sacred vow.
The heart's melody, a hymn of devotion,
In the divine union, a profound emotion.
Every step closer, a pilgrimage trod,
Meeting my Rama, the embodiment of God.
In the silence profound, a communion of souls,
A reunion with divinity, where completeness unfolds.
No words suffice, in your holy presence divine,
This wait is over that transcending space and time.
The Ramayana is a Hindu epic that states that the capital of Lord Rama was Ayodhya, and as this was his birthplace the place is also called Ram Janmabhoomi. It is said that a temple that existed in the place was broken by an order of the invading king Babur, and a mosque in honour of the invader was built by his commander Mir Baqi in around 1528-29. Since then there have been numerous conflicts that have happened to reclaim the land. There is archaeological proof that temples and other structures existed in this place before the Mosque was built, and many columns and bricks in the mosque had Hindu motifs indicating that materials from a Hindu temple were used to build it. In 1992 the mosque was razed by an angry crowd. In 2019 the Supreme Court of India in a landmark judgment returned the land to the Hindu community. A grand temple has now been built.
Today, the 22nd of January 2022, the idol of five-year-old Lord Ram has been placed at the sanctum sanctorum, and the new temple is being inaugurated.
We believe that the reason we had to wait nearly 500 years for the Lord's temple to be built was because the Lord wanted His disciples to appreciate the emotion of parting, longing and separation, and the experience the sacrifices one needed to make to be with Him. The wait is over today.
